Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered his condolences to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the plane crash at Kozhikode airport, the Kremlin press service reported on Saturday.
“Please accept my deepest condolences in connection with the tragic consequences of a passenger plane crash in the city of Kozhikode,” the president noted.
Putin also asked to convey his words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the crash.
An Air India Express Boeing 737 aircraft crashed while landing at Kozhikode airport in India’s Kerala State on August 7. The landing took place amid heavy rain, and the plane approached the airport twice due to adverse weather conditions. According to NDTV, It had 184 passengers on board, including 10 babies, two pilots and four crew members. The plane was en route from Dubai (UAE), performing a flight under the program of repatriation of Indian nationals stranded abroad amid the coronavirus pandemic.
